Clouds

This series commenced in 2010 and was shown at a solo show in the Catherine Hammond Gallery, Glengarriff, Co Cork 13 August-13th September 2011 and the Taylor Galleries, Dublin 15th December 2011-28th January 2012.

The idea is to bring the sky indoors. The paintings are by no means topographical studies or scientific understandings, just an attempt to convey spaciousness. Painted whilst recovering from a period of medical treatment they were an attempt to point, in pictorial format, to transparency, emptiness and the substratum on which sickness and health appear.
