Carborundum prints have been
completed at The Graphic Studio, Dublin.These will be editioned in
the next few weeks and published at an exhibition of 9 visiting artists
at the Graphic
Studio
Gallery, Temple Bar opening
on October 5th. They are all based on the Wall Series and the 400
gm paper is able to give the impression (no pun) of paint on chunky
plaster with a wonderful vibrancy of colour in addition. The work
was undertaken under the tuition and collaboration with Robert Russell
the Visiting Artists Master Printer with the help of artist Sharon
Lee (shortly to take up a scholarship in Lithography in New Mexico).
The other Master Printer of the studio Tom Phelan was also giving
invaluable help and advice. See the Easel

HUNT
THE POSTCARD- A SELLOUT
The 'Hunt the Postcard' event at the Hunt Museum
last weekend was a
resounding success. Before the doors opened at 10am on Saturday,
a
sizeable queue had formed outside - many hoping to spot and claim
the work of the prestigious artists on display
in the gallery. For the next three
and a half hours there was a continuous stream of art lovers, many
of them
en famille, exchanging their fifty euro tickets for works of their
choice.
Even though the sale was scheduled to last for two days, all 678
works had
been sold out by 1.30pm on the Saturday. The Friends of the Hunt
Museum
want to especially thank the generous artists who contributed but
also the
hundreds of buyers who made the occasion such a pleasant day for
everyone.
Postcard size acrylic in the 'field series' was
submitted and sold.

Royal Ulster Academy opened July 20th at Boyle and
Tim, as an invited artist, showed two works. |

Mc Bride Gallery,
a new large space on New Street, Killarney, Co Kerry was opened
on 16th June 2006 by John O'Donaghue, the minister for Arts and
Sport ( a good Irish mixture)..
